DropDeck — Terms of Service
Back to waitlistThese terms govern your use of DropDeck's Steam Deck rental service, operated in Berlin, Germany. By joining the waitlist or entering into a rental agreement, you agree to these terms.
1. The Rental Agreement
A rental agreement is formed when DropDeck confirms your booking and you collect the device in person. No agreement exists from waitlist signup alone — no payment or commitment is required to join the waitlist.
2. Rental Periods & Pricing

Rental periods begin at the time of device collection and end at the agreed return time.
3. Security Deposit (Kaution)
A refundable security deposit of €299 is required before the device is handed over. This is held as a hold against loss or damage and is released in full upon return of the device in acceptable condition.
The deposit does not constitute payment for the device and confers no ownership rights.
4. Late Returns
You have a 12-hour grace period after your agreed return time. After this, a €25 per day late fee applies until the device is returned. DropDeck will send a reminder before any late fee is applied.
Continued non-return may result in the deposit being captured and the matter referred to authorities.
5. Device Condition & Care
The device will be provided to you cleaned, tested, and fully functional. You are responsible for returning it in the same condition, subject to reasonable wear.
You agree not to:
- Modify, disassemble, or attempt to repair the device
- Use the device in a way that causes damage beyond reasonable wear
- Sublet, loan, or transfer the device to a third party
6. Loss or Theft
If the device is lost or stolen during your rental period, you must notify DropDeck immediately and file a police report (Strafanzeige). The security deposit will be captured. Any costs exceeding the deposit value may be pursued through civil means.
7. Steam Account & Data
You sign into the device using your own Steam account credentials. DropDeck does not access, store, or retain your Steam credentials. The device is factory reset between every rental. You are responsible for signing out of all accounts before returning the device.
8. Liability
DropDeck's liability is limited to the rental fee paid for the relevant period. DropDeck is not liable for loss of data, game progress, or software issues arising during the rental.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Berlin.
